Busy, Busy, Busy!

Hello all,

It has been a long time since I have made a video or updated my blog. Don't worry I am still here and working hard. It has been a busy month! Lifewire (Oregon City youth and staff) came and stayed with me for spring break. There was about 60 people in my house! They come every spring break to serve the community. It was such a blessing this year to have One Way Youth (Warm Springs teens) work alongside them. All the teens worked very hard. I have been busy helping others and growing in Christ. I have enjoyed Easter, Baptisms, and so much more with Warm Springs Baptist Church. I have lots of pictures to show, so I will do my best to make a video and get it up soon.

If you would like to help this ministry I am always in need of prayer. I am also needing more financial support. If you would like to help financially please call IMF (952) 346-2477 and ask to donate to Kristen Anderson. ... I am also looking for a 3rd row seat for my 1992 Chevy Suburban (tan interior). I am also in need of a newer laptop so that I can make my videos more timely and work on lessons, letters, etc.

Each year I have to renew my credentials through IMF to continue working as a missionary. I am coming up on one year of being a missionary. The credentials cost about $150 and are required. If you would like to help pay for this please contact IMF (952) 346-2477 and ask to donate to Kristen Anderson. The deadline for this is May 15th.

Thank you for all you do, Kristen

Rednecking it up!

I would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has been supporting me financially. If you would like to support me please call IMF 1 (952) 346-2477 and say that you would like to make a donation for Kristen Anderson. All donations are tax deductible.

This video was so fun to make. Sorry for some of the shaky camera action, it was really cold. Enjoy!

Here is the latest letter I have sent out:

Dear Family and Friends,

I hope this letter finds you all enjoying another year in the Lord.

As you may or may not know, I am currently serving as a missionary on and Indian Reservation in Warm Springs, Oregon. I knew from the first time I served here on a short term missions trip in May 2009 that this is where God had called me. Now after living here for 5 months I am certain I am where God has called me.

I moved out here September 2011 to be a youth director on the reservation. I am blessed to say that we started ‘One Way Youth’ 12-31-11. With the support from members of Warm Springs Baptist church; where the youth ministry is held and the wonderful Wattenbarger family, we were able to have a New Years Eve kickoff party. It was so great to see six teens; that I have worked with before; come and enjoy the party. There was a lot of laughter as we played games, ate pizza and enjoyed each others company. It was an even bigger blessing to see some of them come back for youth group Sunday morning and Wednesday night.

Following God is a wonderful feeling. However, when you follow God satan will attack. Although satan is trying to trip me up I am standing firm in Christ with the help of fellow believers.

If you’ve read my blog: missionarykristenanderson.blogspot.com
You have seen some of the struggles I have faced; especially the month of December, where I made a total of $180 and had car troubles. All of this right before I was setting out to visit family and friends for Christmas and get back in time for the youth party. By the grace of God, using his people; my friends and family were able to fix my car, keep my gas tank full, keep me feed and I was able to pay my bills. Living by faith is such a blessing.

With all that being said, I am writing this letter to inform you that I need your financial help to keep this ministry going. Along with serving as a youth director, I also clean the church. I am willing to get a third job to keep this ministry going but I would like to be able to give the youth my full attention. Please consider partnering with me financially. Every amount given helps One Way youth and myself, plus it’s tax deductible.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives and schedules to read this letter.

God Bless,
Kristen Anderson

Celebrating birth and giving back ...

I want to thank everyone who has participated in the month of 'change' challenge. The month of 'change' challenge will be continued into February. This is how you can participate: Whenever you spend any money this month take whatever change you are given and put it aside. If you use cash you can put the change in a jar; if you use a debit or credit card, round the total to the nearest dollar. At the end of the month of February you can donate your 'change' to One Way Youth and myself by calling IMF: 1(952) 346-2477. Make sure to say your donation is for Kristen Anderson. Thank you for helping 'change' the youth of Warm Spring lives. If you participate in the month of 'change' please let me know. I would like to personally thank you. You can e-mail me: missionaryanderson@gmail.com.

Check out what One Way Youth and I have been up to:

A big thank you to Tims Automotive (tims-automotive.com) and the Wattenbarger family for helping me get a youth friendly rig.

Fumes, Few dollars and FAITH!

I wanted to write this to help everyone understand the importance of your financial support for my ministry. ... When I first felt lead to become a missionary I was concerned I wouldn't have enough money to survive. It's not an everyday job where you know exactly how much you make an hour and what days you get paid. Each Friday I check my bank statement in hopes that someone has sent something so I can cover my bills, gas, food, etc. So far every month I have been a little frightened but always knew that God will provide. Each month there has been just enough or a little under what I need. My close family and friends have rescued me by filling my gas tank or getting me food when I desperately need it. I know people say that "God doesn't give us more than we can handle." But I would like to amend that statement, "God gives us more than we alone can handle because we are not meant to handle it on our own." I knew that becoming a missionary was really stepping out in faith and knowing God will provide. But what I want you to understand is that God uses His people to provide for each other. This week God has really stretched me thin and satan is attacking but I will stand firm in the Lord. On New Years Eve I will be having a kick off party for One Way Youth. I have been preparing for that early so I can see my family for Christmas. While driving to Madras yesterday to finish some last minute things before I headed to see family today, my 'service engine soon' light came on and I had $1 in my pocket and $0 in my account. I called my mentor and close friend Tami and she said she may know what it is and when I come back to visit, her husband will help me with it. Her and her husband have helped me a lot because they believe in me and the ministry. When I checked my bank statement today to see what I got paid it said $80. That is maybe enough to cover one of my bills. So far this month I have only been paid $110. I'm sure that a lot of you would understand that is not enough to live on. It discouraged me a little bit but I still know that God will provide and no matter how hard satan tries he won't take me down as long as God and His people are on my side. So despite knowing if I will have enough gas money to get back home (the rez) and be able to pay my bills. I still set off, 'service engine soon' light on and all and have arrived safely in my home town. Tomorrow Tom will look at my car and fix it. A big thank you to Tom and Tami for always helping me and making me a part of your family. ... In order to continue working with the teens and being a missionary in Warm Springs I am in desperate need of your financial help. I need to raise at least $1000 a month to provide for myself and the youth ministry. This is also a minimum amount that IMF (the company I am a missionary with) asks to be raised. If you enjoy the videos and pictures I post and are at all inspired and feel lead to help please do so. It is best if you sign up for automatic withdraw from a checking or savings account to ensure that I receive funds in a timely manner. You can donate online here: http://i-m-f.org/paypal/ppal_donate.html Make sure to indicate your donation is for Kristen Anderson. ... If you can not make a financial donation please feel free to ask me how you can help by donating your time or items you don't need anymore. I am looking for people to donate frozen pizzas, sodas, bags of large marshmallows, chaperon services and money for the New Years Eve party. Please call, e-mail (missionaryanderson@gmail.com) or facebook message me for more information.  Thank you all so much and God Bless, Kristen

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?  -Matthew 6:25-27
